| The College is a partner in a Grundtvig project the focus of which is to develop a course for administrators who support adult learners. The partners are in Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland and Sweden. The mixture of eastern and western European countries adds an interesting dimension to the project as well as opportunities for us all to learn form each other.
The inaugural meeting of the partners took place in January in Rome and during this time a pilot course was developed. It will be delivered in Germany in June and two of our administrators Kirstie Davison and Maggie Lockrane are attending. It is intended to offer the second course at the College in March 2007. If you wish to find out more about this project or to participate in a future course please email Jill Ward on jill.ward@swann.stoke.gov.uk

Mapping Project |
25/04/2006 |
| Coordinator: |
Fleur Parker |
| Contact: |

| The College is currently the base for a mapping project of provision of adult learners in Stoke-on-Trent. It has long been recognised that some courses are replicated across organisations and that learners do not always have a clear idea of progression routes. Fleur Parker has recently been appointed to carry out this mapping across the statutory, voluntary and community sectors. The project is funded through the Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities and will be completed by July 2007. It is hoped that through this initiative organisations will work in partnership to improve provision and progression routes for learners. The finished report will be available on this website when it is completed. |

| Regen College is being developed by a steering group made up of people from a range of agencies across North Staffordshire. Its aim is to: ‘deliver inspirational and supported learning, enabling local people to develop their community projects into sustainable, viable enterprises’. This will lead to the building of stronger, better communities where people want to live, work and play, today and in the future. This will be achieved by training individuals in the following topics: - Business Planning for Project Development - People Teamwork and Performance - Developing a Funding Strategy - Sustainability and Social Enterprises - Monitoring and Evaluation Participants on the programme will be allocated someone who will give them support whilst they are on the programme by meeting regularly. These mentors are all people who are experienced at working in regeneration and development. Individuals completing the programme and submitting a portfolio for assessment will receive an Open College Network, accredited certificate.
The Regen College has now secured funding from Neighbourhood Renewal to run a further four programmes, hold a number of workshops and run a conference over the next fifteen months. Details of the courses that are coming up are available from Kirstie Davison or Peter Twilley at Wedgwood Memorial College on 01782 372105 or by email: kirstie.Davison@stoke.gov.uk
